The Adventure of The Blue Carbuncle (Summary)
“The adventure of the Blue Carbuncle” is one of 56 short Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Canon Doyle. On Christmas Eve, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson try to determine how a fabulous blue carbuncle found its way down the gullet of a goose. They were making an intensive study of a shabby-looking hat.
As London prepares for Christmas, newspapers report the theft of the near priceless gemstone, the “Blue Carbuncle,” from the hotel suite of the countess of Morcar. John Horner, a plumber, and previously convicted felon are soon arrested for the theft. Just after Christmas, Watson pays a visit to Holmes at 221B Baker Street. They all were trying to solve the mystery of a costly gem.
