Ranji’s Wonderful Bat - RUSKIN BOND – Summary
“Ranji’s
wonderful Bat”, is one of the fantastic stories of ‘Ruskin Bond’. Ruskin Bond
has written many stories for children. Ranji is an eleven years old boy
school-going boy. He loves to play cricket. He was an excellent player on his
school team. Due to some incidents, he lost his skills and loses motivation
also. His captain encourages him but his coach gives him the warning that if he
failed to score in the next match, he will be dropped from the team. Once, his
team starts to lose the match in his absence. Then one of his friends, Mr.
Kapoor gifts him a bat to give motivation and confidence. He told him that it’s
a very lucky bat for him, he scored very well with it. Ranji played with the
bat and he also won and scored very well. He believed that it all happened due
to this magical bat. But, one day loses and becomes very sad then Mr. Kapoor
reveals the reality about the bat, that it's just his superstition. He told him
that he tried to increase his positivity so that he said that it’s a magical
bat and no one will lose with it.
This story
is dedicated to all the children those loved cricket during childhood. Ranji’s
character development with aspects like confidence and down phase in sports is
worth learning a lesson.
