Ans. Mrs.
Marlie and Rose are astonished to see Oliver because he is merely a little
child and impossible to become a thief. So, they decided to ask him first about
the happenings.

Ans. Oliver
told the ladies about all the happenings. He told that the men wanted to rob
them but left him alone wounded there.

the two ladies feel upon hearing Oliver’s story?
Ans. After
listening to Oliver’s story the two ladies felt very sad and they wouldn’t let
the police take him away.

the servants help in protecting Oliver when the police came for inquiry?
Ans. The servants told to police that the boy wounded while playing and the robbers came with bad intentions.
